As we gather together in Maui to engage in an exploraton of the nature of bliss, we invite you to join us in spirit. Each day we will post a bit about our theme, practice and discovery of bliss and hope you will also be exploring bliss in your own life. As we often say in class, the only person you are denying is yourself, why not bring more bliss into your life?
Start with your body... what movement, what kindness can you give your body to ease its way and release resistance? How can you breathe to open both body and mind?
When body and breath have found comfort, bring yourself into savasana or a meditation seat and take a moment to recall an experience of bliss from your lifetime. Allow yourself to experience it all over again, as if if were happening right now - feel the sensations, smell the smells -stay with it, explore it. and then record it with a symbol or with a word. This is a concrete experience to build on. Share it if you like or keep it to yourself.
Setting an intention to find bliss, among the muck and among the joy will lead us to question what bliss really is - is it an ecstatic moment? Is it a complete cycle of experience? Is there one form of bliss or many?
