Santosha...

Santosha - the sanskrit word for contentment - reflects our firm belief that we have all we need inside to live a happy, fulfilled life. Our retreats, whether our adventures take us inward or outward, help you to unearth that joyful capacity deep within you and learn to excavate it in any circumstance. Take a break, give yourself some space, breathe deep, move freely and explore with us!

Cultivating a foundation for bliss...

Consider in your practice, in your life, the need for a strong foundation... strength and suppleness of body, mind and heart.  We practice yoga to create this, to make in ourselves and our lives an environment hospitable to bliss.

How can you cultivate this?  Through a consistent practice of asana, pranayama and meditation we actively work to remove resistance and ways of being that are no longer useful to us.  As you practice yoga and life, be kind to yourself and to others.  See if you can live with an attitude toward yourself that pleases your heart and an attitude toward the world that satisfies your conscience. Be honest with yourself and align with your beliefs in all that you do.

Use your breath as the link between body and mind - focussing on your breath to take you out of your body or your mind and bring you into both at once - pure sensation and pure experience.

Try this practice - employ your ujayii breath as you move in and out of a posture, using the breath to find the rhythm of your movement, practicing honesty as you listen to your breath so that you move at exactly the same pace as your breath instead of creating movement that only appears to be related to your breath.  Then hold the pose and slightly exaggerate the movement your breath is creating in your body so that you gently move slightly in and slightly out of your pose but gradually deeper. Can you imagine using this same technique as a way to live your life?
